Your Ultimate Guide to Planning the Perfect Homecoming Weekend

This weekend is homecoming at Ohio Northern, a time when alumni return to campus and the university hosts a variety of events to celebrate. Several events will take place on campus to celebrate homecoming weekend, including a parade, a tailgate lunch and, an activities tent with inflatables. As a senior, I'm looking forward to fully embracing the weekend by spending time with friends, attending campus events and, reconnecting with alumni.

To kick off the festivities, I'm hosting several events at my house, embracing both the start of fall and homecoming weekend. On Friday, my roommates and I are throwing a bonfire with hotdogs, apple cider and, s'mores for all our friends. We're decorating the entire back porch, moving our cozy front porch couches to the back porch, setting up a table with fall-themed decor, and hanging up both ONU and autumn decorations. It feels like the perfect way to start the weekend of celebrations.

On Saturday, I'll be heading to the parade to watch the campus organizations and homecoming court march down Main Street in Ada. 

At my house, we have large front and back porches, making it the perfect spot for a tailgate before the big football game this weekend. We'll be serving buffalo chicken dip, chips and, apple cider. We will also have card games on hand to keep things entertaining. After our tailgate, we'll head to the campus one, where they'll be serving BBQ Pulled Pork, BBQ Chicken and, have a variety of sides like salad, mac and cheese and, baked beans. This weekend is going to be packed with fun activities and time with friends. I can't wait! 

I love hosting, from finding fun and unique decorations to making great food and planning activities. It excites met to create memorable events for my friends. This school year, I hope to plan more gatherings for my roommates, friends and, I, including card nights, dinner parties and, holiday celebrations.
