A Nashville Getaway: A Weekend of Live Music, Vintage Shopping and, Friendship

This past weekend, I took a trip to Nashville to reunite with friends from my study abroad program. We came from Ohio, Michigan, Illinois and, Tennessee. Two friends from Chicago took a bus to Columbus on Thursday, where I picked them up for our road trip. On Friday morning, another friend from Detroit picked us up and, we grabbed coffee at Buckeye East before hitting the road.

The drive was long but fun, filled with snack breaks, movie soundtracks and, catching up on the last five months. We arrived in Nashville around 4:30 p.m., met up with the others at our Airbnb and, started off the night After the rest of the girls showed up, three who lived about 30 to 40 minutes away, we hugged, of course, and caught up on our lives. Then, the night began. We cooked pasta, as we knew the weekend was about to be expensive, got ready and, headed to by making pasta before heading to Broadway for a night of dancing and live music. We ended the night with street hot dogs, though pricey, were delicious.

Saturday started at brunch, where we walked to a nearby vintage market down the street after. After a pit stop at a coffee shop, we ventured to east Nashville. This is where you'll find the indie shops and bars. We found ourselves at a vintage shop, Black Shag, where we all got permanent bracelets to commemorate the trip. As a fellow second-hand and vintage lover, I was ecstatic by the amount of vintage markets and shops all over Nashville.

Later, we went to Cherries, a cherry-themed bar and, then ended the night at PBR, where a couple of my friends attempted to ride the mechanical bull.

Sunday was more laid-back. We started our day at a coffee shop, browsed some nearby vintage stores and, laid out on the grass in Centennial Park.

Overall, this trip was the perfect reunion and, it was nice seeing all my friends and feeling like no time  had passed. It also reignited my desire to live in a big city after graduation.

  2. This sounds like so much fun!! I absolutely love Tennessee, but I’ve mostly been around Knoxville and the Smokey Mountains. One of these days I’ll head over to Nashville, I want to see these vintage shops you’re talking about! But that aside, that’s so amazing you got to reunite with your friends! I bet it was a blast solely because you got to spend time with them.
