The Best Fall Activities to do This October

As the weather turns colder, there are so many fun-filled activities to enjoy with friends or by yourself to celebrate the season of fall. One of my things to do is bake some of my favorite fall treats, such as the Pillsbury pumpkin cookies. Growing up, my mom would surprise my siblings and me with festive-themed Pillsbury cookies, which become a tradition in my house. Now, I plan to keep that tradition alive with my roommates this year. Along with these cookies, I'm also looking forward to baking pumpkin bread and cinnamon rolls this fall.

Although I haven't been yet this year, visiting a pumpkin patch is a must when it comes to fall. Most years, my family and I head to Crossway Farms, where we pick pumpkins, browse the rows of fall-flavored treats, and enjoy a cup of apple cider.

Football is another fall staple, and with it comes tailgating. I love attending tailgates, especially at Ohio State's campus, where I visit my friends. Drinking hot chocolate, enjoying tailgate food, and hanging out in the fall weather is always the best!

While bonfires may seem more like a summer activity, they are even better in the fall. I love cozying up in a sweatshirt and blanket, roasting marshmallows, and sitting around the fire in the cool fall air. It's one of my absolute favorite things to do.

As an avid movie watcher, I find that fall is the perfect time for a movie marathon. There is nothing better than popping popcorn, making a cup of hot chocolate, and cozying up on the couch while watching a movie. Some of my favorite fall classics include When Harry Met Sally, The Harry Potter series, Little Women, Practical Magic, You've Got Mail, and of course, Halloweentown.

Finally, for a quiet activity you can do with yourself, there is nothing better than curling up in cold weather with a good book. Heading to the local library for a stack of fall reads is an affordable and cozy way to spend an autumn afternoon.

Overall, fall is my absolute favorite season. The cool weather, festive activities, cozy fashion, and delicious food make this time of year amazing.

  1. I love fall so much and you touched on many of my other favorite fall activities to do. My roommates and I just made the Pillsbury pumpkin cookies the other day and they were so good! I also want to go to a pumpkin patch soon because I haven't been in so long. After reading your blog I realized that I haven't done many fall things yet and its almost the end of October. I hop you get to check some of these off your list soon!

  2. One of the reasons I love fall is because there are so many fun activities to do! Football is one of my favorite sports to watch, so I spend a lot of time doing that in the fall. I'm not a big pumpkin dessert fan, but I love the Pillsbury cookies! And going to a pumpkin patch is always a must in the fall!
