Three Brands Who Use Snapchat Successfully

Snapchat has been around for as long as I remember, as I was an avid user in middle school and continued to use it throughout high school. Nowadays, I mostly use the app to send funny snaps to friends and stay updated on people's stories.

When it comes to social media marketing, Snapchat may not be the first platform that comes to mind. However, several brands have successfully leveraged this platform to building a community and engage with their followers. One of these brands is GrubHub, which were one of the first to adapt Snapchat into their social media strategy, starting in 2013. Instead of relying on one-way interaction with their fans, producing content with no needed response, their goal was to build a community through fan interaction. This included sending out snapchat messages that would require a response, such as for exclusive coupons, giveaways and, promotional codes. This brand also gained recognition for responding to every message sent to them on Snapchat, building reliability within their community.

Nars Cosmetics is another great brand to look at when it comes to Snapchat marketing success. While GrubHub focused on maximizing engagement with fans, Nars used Snapchat to tease new product launches. They cross-promoted their newest cosmetic collection on both their company Instagram and Twitter, stating the collection reveal would only be available to their Snapchat friends, skyrocketing their Snapchat friends.

Lastly, a company that uses the latest trends to their advantage when it comes to Snapchat is Taco Bell. They are constantly posting creative and humorous content, creating a large audience to their social media profiles. They brought this energy to Snapchat, creating a personalized Taco Bell Cinco de mayo filter, using both Snapchat and the festive holiday to boost brand awareness.
